Week 1 & 2

We survived weeks 1 and 2 and have now entered week 3. Hard to believe! Danny is growing and has changed so much already. He's now weighing in at 9 lbs, 4 oz after dipping down to 7.14 in the hospital. We're loving getting to know him and him to know us - although he's pretty much a sleeper and eater these days with a few moments in between of altertness. Every day we do seem to see his eyes a bit more and more; it's looking like he'll have light eyes like his brother but still too early to tell for sure I suppose.

Tommy has taken to Danny and asks about him, wants to console when "sad" aka crying and we have to remind gentle touches when he wants to "pet."

We are all learning our "new dance steps" as someone gave the analogy - it's a bit tricky at first but we're getting better everyday.

We've had some visitors since Danny's arrival. Sadly there is no picture of "Aunt Molly" but we did plop Lucy (Mills) and Danny next to each. Here Lucy is 11-weeks and Danny just about 1. Pretty crazy the difference and hard to believe Danny will be there so soon. Danny not loving the photo shoot.

A little bean on Gigi's lap.
The Maddens visit - Danny hanging with Colleen (who is due in late March - Liam is going to be a big brother too! Woo Hoo).

The boys enjoying a bagel breakfast!

More cuddle time with Gigi and Papi!

The Martin Boys :)

The Godleys also visited. Danny cuddling with Sarah.

Gigi and her boys. A shot taken right before she had to head back to KC! We LOVED having Gigi and Papi hang with us for the week. They were so helpful, a billion trips to Target and grocery and just hanging out - special play time for Tommy too. Thanks for being here and cannot wait to see you again hopefully soon!!

Tommy is obsessed with wagons so upon Danny's arrival, Tommy's Mom and Dad thought it would be fun to surprise him with a wagon. It's been very fun strolling it around the neighborhood. Tommy wants Danny to "sit" in it with him and we promised him soon enough he'll be in there.

This is the life...

I even wanted to dine in it the first night.

Dad hanging with the boys.

I'm awake - got to take a quick shot before those eyes close again.

As most of you know, there is a trait that runs in the Martin family, webbed toes. Mike has them as did his Grandmother. It's the 2nd and 3rd toe. Lucky for Danny, he follows in his old man's footsteps.

Another close up of the webbed toes.
Danny has gotten to know this bouncy seat pretty well!

The little peanut and his Dad catching a little shut eye.

The Mills girls came to play - Tommy and Finley enjoying some lunch.

Daniel "Danny" Ignatius Martin ARRIVES!!!!!

After much anticipation, Danny arrived on Saturday, September 18th at 12:11pm weighing in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 21.75 inches. No wonder Mom was struggling to move around towards the end - that was a good size baby to tote around. We couldn't be happier to welcome him home and have another baby boy in our lives. We feel so blessed to have another healthy baby and what an adventure it will be to have 2 boys; Tommy will have so many fun things to share with him.

We will continue to take photos as Danny has already changed in these past few days since his arrival. Thanks for all your well wishes and we look forward to sharing more as we watch both our boys grow. It's hard to believe Tommy is a big brother; time goes so fast! We are trying to enjoy every moment that we can because we know it will only tick by faster. Lots of love!!

Welcome home Danny; this is your new room. Thanks for the fun balloons Gigi, Papi and Aunt Beth!

Cuddling with Dad.

8 pounds, 8 ounces may seem big but I still look pretty small cuddling with my Dad.

Big brother Tommy comes to visit. Tommy got to spend a couple of days hanging with Gigi, Papi and Aunt Beth while his Mom and Dad hung out with Danny. He had so much fun and was spoiled rotten once again. Hand up just like Papi.

Getting good at "Cheese"

Pointing out all of Danny's cute features - eyes, nose, mouth...

Here's Danny - 8 pounds, 8 ounces

Welcome little Danny

Our little burrito.
Big bro!

Mom and her little man!

Bundled up and ready to go home! Mom and Dad were MUCH more relaxed this time around and didn't take 30 minutes (with laughter and tears) to get me in this thing. I guess it's not their first "rodeo" - but by no means are pros - just have learned a few things the past couple of years.

Thanks Aunt Beth for driving down from Glenwood Springs to be with us. We know Tommy had so much fun with you and learned all sorts of things... Scott Joplin, magazine, and many other important lessons. Here she is bonding with the little guy.

Papi and his new Grandson!!

Tommy got a "cool" car from a family friend (and Mother of the Bride of the wedding Erin was supposed to work on the day of Danny's arrival). Thanks, Susan!

Gigi and Danny just chillin'...so sweet.

Tommy's First Day of "School"

I started "school" a couple of weeks ago and here I am all ready to go. They provide the bag that we have to use and I chose green. So far I love it and have had fun with my new friends and teachers.

Gearing up for school - Mom still pregnant with "little" Danny inside!

Grandma & Grandpa Come to Visit

I have now been spoiled by all Grandparents visiting this summer. Grandma & Grandpa came to visit us from Florida and it was a treat as always. Spoiled once again with activity and goodies. Thanks for coming to spend time with us; we enjoyed having you here. It was another hot weekend but we managed to get out and about. Excited to see you again soon :)

First stop a visit to the Botanic Gardens; it's a pretty spot. Hanging with Dad and Grandpa. Hand up ready for the photo.

Hand up again for the shot with Dad and Grandma Linda.

Checking out the pretty koi with Grandpa.

Some lunch post Botanic Gardens.

Grandpa & Grandma joined us for Claire's 1st birthday party. They got to see my friends in action.

Loving Grandpa's lemonade.
This is the life. Spoon fed cake and ice cream by both of them - such suckers!

Man, this is good.

Grandpa's turn - I can't get enough of this stuff.

On Sunday we ventured to the zoo to check out lots of monkeys and other fun animals. We even saw the gorillas banging into the walls which was a tad scary for all.

I am way more interested in that elephant than smiling for the camera.

Another choo choo trip! My favorite!
