Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Easter weekend we ventured to Kansas City for a long weekend! We had lots of fun playing at Gigi and Papis and exploring the town. I wouldn't call it one of our most relaxing getaways since Tommy decided it was time to escape the Pack 'n Play - "I can get out." I guess we knew it was coming soon but why away from home? So Mike was in bed the first two nights at 8:30 with the little guy and Mom was with him the last night. We had early mornings anyways so it didn't upset us too much to hit the hay early.

Danny was pretty good although Easter morning he was up quite early so Mom took him on a drive to see some of the old stomping grounds around town - including a trip to Starbucks.

This is a funny shot of Tommy sleeping by his door back in CO. When we got home, we tried the crib to see what would happen. Sure enough, bang on the floor and he got out. Here he feel asleep next to the door with bunny in his hand. Tommy is now in his toddler bed/converted crib and soon will be in his big boy bed!

The Plaza is a shopping area near my parent's house that is known to have Easter bunnies throughout during the season. As Papi and Dad golfed, the girls took the boys on a stroll. Don't look at their eyes too closely, they are kind of scary!

Another highlight of KC are the numerous fountains throughout town. This was quite fun for Tommy to make lots of wishes.

Not only are their Easter bunnies, but the black swan...

Lion?

This one is Brian. "Hi, Uncle Brian."

Kate

Another wish. "I wish for Mommy to sleep in." Ah bummer, that wish didn't come true :)

From this angle the coins didn't quite make it into the water. I wonder how many coins are hidden in those bushes?

Let's try from this side...

That is one big purse that lady has behind Tommy. Geez!

Peek-a-boo behind Ellyn

The Wysong family met up at Grams' "house" for a small gathering. It was fun to see everyone and the 3 little boys did quite well for being trapped in a "hot" room with nothing to do but get in trouble for trying to open doors, climb furniture and break pretty things. A little wine did spill but we cleaned that one up fast! We'll blame it on Grams :)

Papi and smiley Danny

Cute Grams and Cute Beth! I told Grams I hoped she was enjoying her wine and she said she was on glass #2 - good for you sweet "I can't hear you" Grams. Good thing she couldn't hear the ruckus of the crazies :)

Aunt Donna and her cute grandson Jackson!

Jackson, Aydon and Tommy - attempting to get a shot of all 3

Let's try again..

Yep, our camera is WAY too slow.

Gigi and Danny Boy. Hand always in the mouth...

So here is the first family shot Beth took. Pretty good, most are looking. The only one missing is Mom's cousin Brian (he's a teacher/golf coach and they had a tourney). We missed you!

Beth entered and we had a sweet lady who helps Grams take the photo and it didn't quite come together - but as we like to say - "it's a great moment in time" The Martin boys must have thought the camera was behind them. And, check out the hands - like Mother like Son!!

Grams and her kiddos

Gigi and Papi have a piano too (just like Grandma and Grandpa) so another big hit!

Here comes Peter Cottontail....looks like he made an appearance with some fancy chocolate bunnies. Thanks Easter Bunny.

He came. Where did all the eggs go? Mom thinks it's the strangest thing that a bunny comes to the house, takes the eggs and hides them and then leaves candy and little toys. But who doesn't think that's strange?

Do you like the faded purple baskets? Why yes, those are Mom's and Aunt Beth's very own Easter baskets. Not really sure why those made the list of "things to keep." :) Ready for the egg hunt!

All dressed up and ready to go

We went to Gigi and Papi's club for brunch, egg hunt and an Easter bunny visit. Perfect way to celebrate Easter!

I found some.

A family shot. Not reallly sure why we opted the parking lot as the background with the pretty golf grounds surrounding? Oh well.

Tommy wasn't scared of the bunny like Mom and Dad thought might happen.

"Here you go, bunny." Tommy wanted to give him his eggs back.

Post hunt. Danny sporting a sligh mohawk. Thanks for a fun visit!
