McCall, Idaho

For the 4th of July week, we flew to Idaho for a week on Payette Lake in McCall, Idaho. What started as a family reunion, led to us renting a cabin on the lake for the entire week with Gigi and Papi. We figured if we're going all that way, might as well stay a bit longer than 3-days. McCall is about 2 hours North of Boise. So the first part of the week was just the Wysong/Martin clans and the second half was a gathering of about 100 O'Shaughnessy family members enjoying McCall and the Shore Lodge (about a 5 minute boat ride from where we stayed). We had a great time, very relaxing, with quite the scenery. It's gorgeous despite the water being a little chilly for swimming. Thanks for a fun week!!

Papi rented a pontoon for the week. Tommy's an old pro at boating and he loves it!

Captain and his mate

A little fishing from the boat. On one outing, for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to throw the rod (not ours) in the freezing cold water. Sure enough Dad saved the day by quickly jumping in to rescue the rod. I think it took him a full day to warm up.

Just as I imagined

delicious

Need I say more

For some reason the bugs LOVE Gigi. In fact on a sailing trip once, I remember Gigi being one, big bug bite. No joke. So to help she opted to attach a bug spraying fan to her jacket. Classic!

And Papi thought it would be good to have one on his shoe

Danny's Baptism

As summer's busy schedule continues, we celebrated Danny's baptism the weekend of June 23rd. It was a great weekend and we loved having some family and the Godparents in town. Nana visited from NJ, Gigi & Papi joined from KC, Kate "Gaffney", Johnny (Godparents) and Tad Howells joined from Atlanta. Aunt "Beff" and other close friends also joined on Saturday for the service followed by brunch at our house. Thanks so much for joining us on this special day especially to those that traveled quite a distance to be here. It meant a lot! oxox

Here is a link to some great shots Nana took -

Tad loves the rocket launcher - gotta love the $20 plastic toy that never gets old as long as you can keep the rockets from the neighbor's yard.

Enjoying some time with Nana

Playtime for the boys with help from Kate and Papi

Sweet little Tad and his Mama Kate (who is pregnant and due in August - yay!!)

Cheersing with our yummy popsicles

Tad's face says it all - so cute

All dressed up for our Italian dinner out - we managed to get our own room so we didn't distub - they must have known who was coming. Tad cheered for everyone at the table - saying their name over and over while waving his hand like Arsino Hall and then clapping...too much.

Popsicles round 2

Perfect hideout for our yummy treat

Breakfast with the boys

Danny received some wonderful gifts including some very special books. After a long and busy weekend some quiet reading time with Nana.

Dad's turn reading to his boys.

Somehow this didn't make it to the last post. Thanks for a fun time, Papi and Gigi. Lovin' my dog and Royals hat!

Fun City

Our annual trip to Fun City was the first week of June this year. Dad flew with Mom and the boys to help get them settled and then sadly had to fly home to work. But soon enough he was back for more fun. It was HOT in KC - especially the beginning of the week. Typical 95 degrees and humidity - but it wouldn't be the same without the heat.

Thanks to Gigi and Papi for making it such a fun week. We boated, swam, wined, dined, visited a couple swimming pools, visited Grams where Tommy walked into one of her neighbor's room and wished her a happy (99th) birthday, played at the park, fished and relaxed.

"Diamond Lil" out for an early morning spin - perhaps waking up neighbors with the reved up engine.
"I drive the boat." Nice work, T.

Danny enjoyed his first boat ride!

Start it up, T.

Cocktail cruise time. Sticking with she shade.

There's room for 2

We were graciously hosted at the Kansas City Country Club, where Mom coached swimming WAY back when, by Mom's good friend Sarah (Remley) Grant. Mom's other good friend Buffy (Bowen) Gunter joined - along with the 3 "Grandmas." Here I am with a few of my friends - Mary, Gracie and Remley - Will and Peter are adventuring off the high dive.

Pool time

Getting ready to catch my first fish.

Let's GOOOOOO!

No pics taken of the actual fish, but I did help with the worms and touched the swirmy fish.

Cheese - cute with Papi!

More boat time

Gigi and Papi took me to my first Royals Game. Thanks for my new hat, taking me on the carousel and treating me to a hot dog. Papi's goal was 2 innings. After 1.5, "it's time to go now." Papi said, "just a few more bats" - not sure that a 2.5 year old gets waiting but they made it to 2 innings.
